My name’s David, and I’m the voice behind this buzzing little corner of the internet. I’m a proud husband (married my best friend on 11/12/13), dad to three amazing kids, and keeper of what some might call a small zoo — four dogs, four cats, nearly a hundred chickens, a pair of alpacas, and a very opinionated donkey. Life is busy, loud, and full of love, just the way I like it.
Before I found my way into the world of beekeeping, I served in the United States Marine Corps for five years and later became a certified EMT. I’ve worn a few hats in my life, but none have felt quite as right as the one that comes with a veil and a hive tool. Beekeeping isn’t just a hobby for me — it’s a deep-rooted passion and a way of life that connects me to nature, my family, and a more self-reliant way of living.
At Homegrown Honeybees, my mission is simple: to help ensure the survival of the honeybee through education, sustainable backyard practices, and a whole lot of passion. Bees are the heartbeat of our ecosystems and the unsung heroes of our food supply — and they deserve more advocates. I believe in sharing the joy and importance of beekeeping with others so that together, we can protect these incredible pollinators for generations to come.
